Fleishman Park is Open!

We are happy to announce Fleishman Park in Redwood City is open for public use. (And just in time for this unseasonably warm weather.) Thanks to all of our neighbors and the community that uses Fleishman Park for their patience throughout construction.
More on Restoration of Parks

• Red Morton Park remains open. Visitors will notice large equipment stored on a small area adjacent to King Street
• Flood Park remains open to the public except for the back parking lot and ball court where staging continues
• Restoration is nearly complete at North Fair Oaks Community Playground (Please note for safety reasons: the park is not yet open to the public.)
• The southern Cordilleras Trail head at Pulgas Ridge Open Space Preserve is closed for work at the Pulgas yard. Hikers are encouraged to use other trail heads.

Fence Restoration

Fence restoration is moving along in Redwood City. We are currently working near Ebener St and Redwood Ave. Fence installation in North Fair Oaks will immediately follow Redwood City.

Menlo Park Boys and Girls Club Restoration

Pipe installation is complete and restoration is set to begin at Menlo Park Boys and Girls Club on Monday. We want to return the main entrance, basketball court, gardening area, and front lawn to the members as soon as possible so they can enjoy the outdoor facilities. We will also be repaving the adjacent portion of Ivy Drive at Market Place. While our work in this area will conclude rather soon please be aware of the continued CalTrans work on the pedestrian bridge over Hwy 101.

Road Restoration

Curb and gutter restoration is currently happening at Iris Lane and Ivy Drive in Menlo Park. Pavement restoration will follow the curb and gutter work. Final paving of Bay Road will take place after these areas of Menlo Park are completed. Curb and gutter restoration is scheduled to begin in Redwood City next week. Impacted areas between Hudson and King Streets will be restored beginning Monday. We will continue to post updates on the road restoration work.

Fencing Update

Phase 2 fence restoration has finally begun! Crews are currently working at Hawes and Hudson Street. We are completing the few remaining fences in Redwood City and will continue on to North Fair Oaks for fence installation between 10th Ave and Middlefield Road.

Grading and site preparation directly precede fence installation. A smaller crew is being used for fencing while the other crew prepares and grades the area for fence installation.

You will receive a notice as we approach your area for fence restoration. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns when you receive the fence installation notice.

IMPORTANT: Once fence installation is complete for your permit area you will regain use of the Right of Way; however final pipeline work will occur and may require additional work in your permit area. As stated in Section 3- Limits of Permit Area and other City Property in your Encroachment Permit, the SFPUC will not be held responsible for replacement or compensation of your permitted improvements in the event the project needs to access your permit area. Until project completion, we advise you to NOT restore any landscaping or permitted improvements.

Restoration of Bay Road is tentatively projected to take place in the middle of March. Restoration will include necessary repairs to the sidewalks, curb and gutters, as well as repaving the street. Please stay tuned as we will have a more specific timeline as the work approaches.
